:: Bowness-on-Windermere ::

Info on Bowness. More info.

Finally, we had the chance to take the lake cruise from Bowness.

Our Red Cruise trip was from Bowness to Ambleside or Vice Versa.
some info on the trip :
The round trip from Bowness can be taken as a 70 minute non-landing cruise.
Alternatively you may disembark at either Ambleside or Bowness returning on a later boat.

:: Bridge House, Ambleside ::

Bridge House, a tiny stone-built house straddling Stock Beck* in Ambleside, is one of the Lake District's best known landmarks, at least in part because it stands directly by the main A591 road along which most visitors to the Lakes will travel at least once during their stay.

:: The Lakes Aquarium, Lake Windermere ::

At first, our original plan was to take the lake cruise, however, as the place was on flood, all of the boats and trains were not available. The only option that we had was headed to the aquarium. Hmmm..
Check the url here.

Welcome To Windermere

England's largest and arguably, prettiest lake, more than ten miles long, and at it's deepest 220ft (65m) is situated in beautiful countryside at the southern end of The Lake District. Many of the best loved mountains are visible from the lake and it' s shores.

The town of Windermere in Cumbria, England is situated in The Lake District National Park ands lies 1 kilometer from Lake Windermere, the town itself dosn't touch the lake, and is sometimes confused with the older town of Bowness On Windermere, over the years both towns have grown in population and are sometimes mistaken as one.

:: Lakeland Miniature Village ::

This is one of the most popular attractions in Cumbria and is located in Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands.

The miniature village contains a number of Cumbrian houses and farms, including Hill Top that is the home of Beatrix Potter. All the buildings in the village were hand made by Edward Robinson.

There are over 120 buildings at the village all portraying a different aspect of life in Cumbria throughout its history.

:: Lakeland Leisure Park ::

It was raining all day..even some parts of Cumbria were flooded. In fact, the Britain's toughest marathon event, the Original Mountain Marathon, was abandoned that day due to the weather. The annual marathon was abondoned for the first time since it was organised for 41 years! The weather must be that bad. Read more here. The only place that we went was the swimming pool... the kids enjoyed themselves and the rest of the day was filled with eating and watching tv....yeahhh what a holiday.

:: The Trip to Lakeland Caravan, Grange over Sands, Cumbria ::

This time, our trip was to the Lakeland Caravan Holiday. On the way there, we dropped by Wid's house at Lancaster University and somehow accidently met Kak Nazihah, my colleague. Well, we got an hour drive to go from Lancaster.
